  1. Flat-Rate Pricing: Checkers Home Cleaning offers a transparent flat-rate pricing model based on your home’s square footage and the services you select. This straightforward approach makes it easy to get a predictable cost, whether you’re scheduling services over the phone or online. We provide various levels of cleaning along with a host of additional options, ensuring you can tailor our services to meet your needs. Note: we do not clean homes larger than 3,900 square feet.

  2. Changes from Original Quote: Our quotes are upfront and determined by the details you provide about your home and the desired cleaning service. However, we reserve the right to amend the initially quoted price or any applicable discounts if the actual circumstances of your home differ from the described, or if inappropriate booking options are selected.

  3. Non-Refundable Deposit: We require a non-refundable $100 deposit for all initial cleanings. This charge is applied to your first cleaning service, but if you cancel the service after scheduling, we retain the full deposit.

  4. Rate Increases: Checkers Home Cleaning reserves the right to adjust rates as necessary to cater to costs, but rest assured, we’ll always provide our clients with advance notice of any price increase.

  5. Scheduling Requests: At Checkers Home Cleaning, we pride ourselves on employing the finest cleaning technicians in Sioux City and surrounding areas. While we can’t guarantee the availability of a specific technician or arrival time, we’ll notify you of our estimated arrival window in advance. For clients booking our recurring services, we provide the convenience of the same day of the week for every cleaning.

  6. Discounts: Checkers Home Cleaning offers discounts to clients booking recurring cleanings based on the service frequency. Changes to your service schedule that fall outside your selected frequency may affect these discounts.

  7. Rescheduling: We handle all rescheduling requests via our online Schedule Change Form. This form only applies to the specific date indicated, and won’t affect your regular cleaning schedule. For recurring cleaning schedule changes, please contact our office directly.

  8. Skipping a Cleaning: For clients under our Recurring Cleaning program who wish to skip a cleaning, you must fill out our Schedule Change Request Form. Note that there is a $50 Skip Fee for skipped Recurring Cleanings to account for the additional work needed to maintain your home’s cleanliness.

  9. Cancellations: All cancellations must be made using our online Service Cancellation Form.

  10. Late Changes and Cancellations: Please note, cancellations or rescheduling of services within 48 hours of your scheduled service will incur a $100 late cancellation fee. This helps to compensate our cleaning technicians for their lost income.

  11. Lockouts: If a cleaning technician cannot access your home upon arrival for a scheduled cleaning and hasn’t been informed of the cancellation, a lockout fee equal to the full cost of the cleaning will be charged.

  12. Happiness Guarantee: Your satisfaction is our priority! If you’re unhappy with our services, please reach out immediately. We will assess the situation and re-clean problem areas free of charge within two business days. If the issue persists and is our fault, we’ll provide a full or partial refund depending on the situation.

  13. Billing: We require a credit card on file for all clients, securely stored for payments. Payment is due at the time of service, and your card will be charged on the day of cleaning. Any declined payments should be resolved within three business days, or late payment fees of $10 per day will apply, and all scheduled services will be paused.

Breakage Policy

At Checkers Home Cleaning, our professional team always strives to ensure the utmost care of your home and belongings. However, we understand that accidents may occur. In response to this, we’ve developed a transparent and fair policy for handling accidental breakage.

Should you notice any breakage, please contact us at 712-560-7050 as quickly as possible so that we can rectify the situation. All breakages must be reported within 7 (seven) days of the incident, and we kindly request that you save the broken item for our inspection. Each incident of breakage will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

In situations where the value of the broken item can be verified and the breakage is clearly due to negligence on our part, we will reimburse the cost of the item up to $100.00. For items valued over $25, verification must be provided before replacement or reimbursement is authorized.

In some cases, it may be more appropriate for us to have the item professionally restored rather than reimbursing the cost of the item.

However, it’s important to note that we cannot take responsibility for breakage resulting from inherently unstable or delicate items, or items that are inappropriately placed. Examples include top-heavy items with inadequate bases, improperly hung pictures, or unstable objects. These scenarios are often accidents waiting to happen, regardless of the care our cleaning technicians take.

Moreover, materials used in many window blinds tend to become brittle over time and may break during cleaning or even during regular usage. Consequently, we cannot accept any responsibility for damages to older blinds. If you have areas in your home you prefer us not to clean due to these concerns, please inform our office, and we will add these specifics to your home details.

For the safety of your fragile, unstable, or expensive items, we recommend moving them to an area we do not clean, or ask us to avoid that area entirely if you’re uncomfortable with the risk of accidental damage.

Other Cleaning Policies

  1. Employee Safety. Our cleaning technicians are the lifeblood of Checkers Home Cleaning, and their safety is paramount to us. The areas designated for cleaning must be free of excessive clutter or hazardous conditions. Indoor temperatures should also be suitable for them to work safely. Therefore, during warmer weather, our technicians may adjust the air conditioning to 77 degrees Fahrenheit while they work in your home. However, they will reset it to your preferred setting before leaving.

  2. No Unfair Solicitation of Employees. At Checkers, we take pride in our talented employees and invest a significant amount of time, money, and effort into their recruitment, hiring, and training. Some past clients have tried to solicit our employees for private work, bypassing our company. Please be aware that our employment contract prohibits employees from accepting private work from Checkers clients unless we receive a finder’s fee of $2,500. Solicitation of our employees for side jobs or direct hire outside of this contract is unfair to our business, and it places our employees in an awkward situation. If you attempt to hire an employee for private work without paying the required finder’s fee, all future services will be immediately terminated.

  3. Additional Services Available with Advance Notice. Besides our standard cleaning packages, we offer a variety of Add-On services that you can book with your primary cleaning. You can add these services to any cleaning on a one-time or recurring basis. Please contact us at 712-560-7050 or office@checkershomecleaning.com for pricing and scheduling. Add-On services must be requested at least one business day in advance of your scheduled cleaning and cannot be added on the day of the cleaning.

    • Dish Washing. We provide dish washing services at an additional cost. However, we are not responsible for any damage that may occur during this process. We recommend not including delicate or valuable dishware in this service.

    • Laundry. We can take care of your laundry at an additional cost. Please note that we are not liable for any damages or discoloration that may occur during the laundry process. We strongly recommend checking all pockets for items and separating clothes according to their washing instructions before our team arrives.

  4. Services We Do Not Offer. We specialize in cleaning your home efficiently and effectively and offer a wide array of cleaning services to suit many needs. However, there are certain services that we do not provide, including:

    • Shopping or errands outside the home
    • Cleaning inside of curios, china cabinets, stocked cabinets, stocked closets, or drawers
    • Cleaning behind glass or solid doors on shelving units or furniture
    • Organizing items or picking up clutter (defined as five or more items in any given area)
    • Washing exterior windows or interior windows that require more than a two-step ladder
    • Cleaning window tracks and sliding glass door tracks
    • Cleaning areas more than six feet above the ground (due to insurance restrictions, our cleaning technicians may not use any ladder higher than a two-step ladder)
    • Heavy lifting (items weighing more than 25 pounds)
    • Cleaning difficult or unsafe areas
    • Specialty cleaning such as post-construction cleaning, patios, garages, electronic screens, steam cleaning, or carpet cleaning
    • Cleaning of bodily fluids, mold, toys, pet waste, or other bio-hazards (except for an ordinary level of bathroom cleaning)
    • Cleaning heavily soiled or damaged areas, including rooms or homes with extreme dirt build-up, mold, mildew, peeling paint, or other unsafe conditions
    • Cleaning excessively cluttered rooms or homes (our cleaning technicians must be able to move freely and safely through your home)
    • Cleaning excessive hard water or mineral stains or buildup. If your home has areas with hard water or mineral buildup beyond what we can clean with our standard cleaning supplies and tools, we can refer you to another company that can provide appropriate services.
    • Any cleaning that would require cleaning supplies or tools beyond what Checkers Home Cleaning supplies.
    • Cleaning inside dishwashers, washing machines, and dryers.
    • Cleaning for homes larger than 3,900 square feet. If your home exceeds this size, we can refer you to another company that can provide appropriate services.
